"Damascena" is the first private distillery in Bulgaria. It was founded in 1991 and today one of the most famous companies in this industry. It produces essential oils and quality of its products is guaranteed and recognized worldwide.

 
Some of the best-known products "Damascena are rose oil, rose water and lavender oil. The company grows their own crops in large fields and gardens, where professional test and ensure the quality of all products. The process of extraction of essential oils and is certified under ISO.
 
In addition, Damascena recently opened ethnographical complex. Cozy nook has built in the original Bulgarian style and offers a close look at the traditional rose. All guests are invited to see the museum display, or to try essential oils. Time spent in the garden is a refreshing and unforgettable experience.

Rose oil is one of the symbols of Bulgaria. Worldwide it is known as "Queen of essential oils. Produced from oil-bearing rose (Rosa Damascena Mill). The first plants of this type were transferred to Bulgaria from Damascus (Syria) about 350 years. In this region, between the Balkan and Central Forest, Rose is the most favorable climatic conditions for development.
 
Rose oil is produced by water-steam distillation of the flowers of Rosa Damascena. Its production is a seasonal process that takes place during May and June for a period of 25 - 30 days.
 
Rose oil is yellow to yellow-green easy moving maslopodobna liquid that contains more than 300 components, 283 of which have been identified. Specific ratio of ingredients is due to the multilateral use of rose oil. It is used in perfumery, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries and in aromatherapy.
 
Produced in the distillery "Damascena" rose oil meets the requirements of the Bulgarian state standards and the ISO.
 
Rose water is 100% pure natural product that is produced by water-steam distillation from Rosa Damascena.
 
Due to the contents of a quantity of rose oil dissolved in it, it does disinfected and antibacterial. Applies externally in inflammatory processes, acne, skin redness, and sun burns. At home it can be added to creams, shampoos, body lotions and other cosmetics.
 
Rose water is used in aromatherapy for its relaxing effect.
In the industrial scale is used in perfumery and cosmetics.

Ethnographic complex. 

 
The idea of ethnographic complex was born thanks to our visitors. Many of our guests are interested in the process of production of essential oils and it provokes us to create a place where they can learn more about it.
 
Today the complex is open to visitors and tourists. It is a place where they can learn more about the production of essential oils: from modern technology to traditional extraction methods used 350 years ago.
 
 
Along with that every visitor can test different types of essential oils and learn more about their application.
 
Museum exhibition shows different methods of manufacture and storage of rose oil. Tour the ethnographic complex shows old traditional crafts typical for this region.
 
Our guests are invited to walk and relax in the beautiful rose garden near the farm. The view from this place reveal a breathtaking panorama as the Balkan Mountains and to the average forest. It is located on and near the huge garden planted with Rosa Damascena, from which rose oil is produced.
